How long is the commute from Hollywood to Woodland Hills on the 101 in the morning?

I just moved to LA and I’m looking for an apartment. Originally, I was planning on looking for something near my place of work in Woodland Hills, but mostly it’s either non-optimal neighborhoods or far-too-rich neighborhoods around there. I’m looking instead to live near a friend in Hollywood, but I need to know how long it would take me to commute in the morning, on the 101, from the Hollywood area to the Topanga exit. (Roughly, of course — I realize this will be affected by weather/accidents, and how far south on the 101 I go. But a normal morning’s drive is what I’m looking for.)

Depending on how long it takes you to get to the highway, you are looking at about 50+ minutes on the 101. That’s a fairly brutal stretch, with the 405 creating the worst problems, though taking Ventura Blvd. might give you some help.
On the bright side, it is a great, up and coming area to live.
